Kincardine Looks Toward a Bluer Future — with Help from Quench Buggy

Kincardine, ON — October 29, 2025

The Municipality of Kincardine is considering taking inspiring steps toward becoming a Blue Community, a global initiative that recognizes access to clean water and sanitation as a fundamental human right. The Kincardine Environmental Action Network (KEAN) recently presented the idea to council, outlining how the community could embrace more sustainable water practices.

In a presentation covered by Bayshore Broadcasting News, KEAN representative Amanda Saxton emphasized that “water isn’t something that is owned by anyone — it’s something we’re all responsible for and entitled to.” The organization encouraged Kincardine to reduce bottled-water sales at municipal facilities and events as a key step toward Blue Community status.

One practical and community-friendly solution discussed during the presentation?

“We would be relying on filling stations, we’d be relying on Quench Buggies, things like that to provide water for people,” said Saxton.

Hearing our name mentioned in this context is an honour. At Quench Buggy, our mission has always been to make clean, safe, and accessible water available wherever people gather — from festivals and outdoor events to municipal parks and community spaces. Seeing towns like Kincardine explore sustainable water infrastructure reflects the very heart of what we do.

As communities across Canada move away from single-use plastics and bottled water, we’re proud to play a part in that transition. Providing reliable, refillable hydration options doesn’t just protect the environment — it reinforces the idea that water is a shared resource, not a commodity.

We commend KEAN and the Municipality of Kincardine for their leadership and look forward to supporting similar initiatives that make public water access both sustainable and celebrated.
